Downtown Charlottetown,P.E.I.

Today was a beautiful day. Sunny & clear light breeze 62deg. We visited downtown Charlottetown. The stainless steal sculpture of a Blue Fin Tuna was very good. The scales are made of spoons. They had other sculptures through out the area. We visited the St. Dunstan's Basilica and it was very impressive. Finished off the day with lunch at The Lobster on The Wharf with P.E.I. mussels and a cup of lobster bisque.

Prince Edward Island

The Sea and Wind

It's just amazing what the Sea and Wind can do to the shore line when it gets rough. Up here no one builds close to the water like they do in Florida. Because of the erosion up here Prince Edward Island looses an average of 1 meter of shoreline annually. All the shoreline is natural. No one comes along and spends government money on bringing in sand just to wash out again.

Site # 2 enough is enough !!!!

Well the same story early today. This wind can be wicked. Went up the office to see if we could move and they said yes. We drove around and found a nice spot with some trees to stop the wind, so we unhooked and moved over to the other side of campground on the beach. There are trees behind us and then the beach area. A couple of spots away from us is a pathway leading to the beach. HAPPY CAMPERS again.

Twin Shores Campground, Darnley,Prince Edward Island

Well here we are on Prince Edward Island at Twin Shores Campground. As you can tell there are not a lot of people here. This was our first site. Last night was our first night and it blew about 25 to 30 gusting a lot higher. The way we were facing at about 4:00 a.m. we had to get up and pull the full wall slide in to keep from tearing up the slide cover. This was also our first sunset. It's all fun and games until the wind starts to howling and the slide cover starts slapping.

Light House

This Light House is on it's own island just off the point of the mainland. The first picture is the steps leading down to the cut. The second picture is the water flowing thru the cut at high tide. Then you can see the steps up to the Island Lighthouse. We never got over to it because high tide just set in.
