Good Sam Samboree

We left home on Tue. May 3,2011 for a Samboree in Okeechobee Fl. at the KOA campground. It was an easy trip down I-95 to Hwy 70, then Westward toward Okeechobee. When we got off of I-95 the love bugs hit. The whole front of the coach was covered with the little guys. We arrived at the KOA campground and went to our resereved site, where our Club was camped all together, then we found out that the site didn't have 50 Amp power.  So they had us move over to the other side of the compound to a site WITH 50 Amp power, but no shade, not level at all (with the  jacks down the front wheels were off the ground), and our friends were 1/4 mile away on the other side of the park.  We got all hooked up and started getting the bugs off the coach, cussing the whole time.

We finished the bug detail, cracked a beer and that's when our friends called and said, "come on back to the original site, we figured out the power problem".  Sooo we unhooked everything, put the slides in and took off back to join the Club.  Basically we borrowed a 50 Amp extension cord and plugged into a different site's box.

This site is perfect, has a huge shade tree, is level and the perfect spot for the 4:00 happy hour every day!  It's a little cramped for 36 people and their drinks and food, but I'm not complaining

As for the Samboree itself...I'm a little dissapointed, not many vendors, no seminars (allthough plenty of free advise), not too well organized.  We helped cook and serve over 700 free hot dogs yesterday
