Drive through Mount Rainier Nat'l Park

These photos were from our drive through Mount Rainier Nat'l Park. It was not a good day for this trip. Clouds were very low (or mountain was very high) for most of the trip you could hardly see the road or any of the scenery. I was doing about 25 to 30 mph. We stopped to take some pictures of these snow drifts. The driving tour was 78 miles long, in the car. Got into a snowball fight, but everyone is okay!

From Lake Tahoe

From Lake Tahoe we traveled to San Fransisco CA. We took a ferry across San Fransisco Bay into town. It was very cold and windy.  The next day we took a side trip to Sonoma CA to tour some wineries. Had a great time.

Paddle wheel boat ride on Lake Tahoe

                                                                   Water fall

The whole group took a two hour paddle wheel boat tour (500 passengar) but was less than half full. The boat was three decks high. This lake and area is beautiful. The lake is 62 degs. all year long. The depth is 1600 ft. in the deepest spot. Lake Tahoe had a record snow fall of 65 ft. this year. As you can see there is still snow in on the mountains. We drove from 5000ft. to 8000ft back down 4000ft where the lake was. We drove this in the car .

Lake Meade and Hoover Dam

Posted by Picasa

Arrived in Las Vegas today. Very crowded, heavy traffic. Watched some fire works from campground on the fourth. Took a day trip to Lake Meade in Boulder City  for a boat ride around the lake. Got to see the Hoover Dam from the boat. Nothing special about Vegas.
